RC4GS V3 FAQ
Q: What receivers are RC4GS V3 compatible with?
A: R6FG(Standard)/R8FGH/R8FG/R7FG/R6F/R8EF/R8F/R4FGM/R4F.
Q: Can RC4GS V2 or RC4GS upgrade the firmware of RC4GS V3 to get the functions of RC4GS V3?
A: Cannot. RC4GS V2 and RC4GS cannot upgrade the firmware of RC6GS V3's success.
Q: What battery is suitable to work with RC4GS V3? What's the voltage range?
A: The JST connector of RC4GS V3 can be easily adapted for various batteries, including LiPo batteries of 2S to 4S and 6 pieces of AA batteries. The voltage range is 4.8V to 16.8V.
Q: Does RC4GS V3 have a telemetry function?
A: Yes. RC4GS V3 is capable of returning signal strength, RSSI, and receiver voltage. If works with RadioLink receiver R7FG/R8F/R8FG, vehicle voltage can also be returned. However, telemetry of motor speed and temperature is NOT available yet.
Q: Can RC4GS V3 control TRAXXAS or twin-engine RC cars?
A: Sure. RC4GS V3 is a perfect remote control for all types of on-road electric-powered or gasoline cars and twin-engine cars, tracked vehicles, crawlers, drift cars, tractor trucks, nitro cars, mini cars, sailboats, and fishing boats.
Q: How to setup dual ESC with RC4GS V3?
A: Select whichever two preferred channels and refer to the PROGRAMMABLE MIX CONTROL setup part in the user manual of RC4GS V3/RC4GS V2 or click the below link for the detailed steps to setup mix control
Q: How many models RC4GS V3 can store?
A: RC4GS V3 can store 30 models data at most.
Q: How to do the binding between RC4GS V3 and receivers?
A: All the binding of RadioLink transmitters and receivers is the same. Power on the products, long press the binding button on the receiver, and release, the led indicator always on means the binding is done. Click the tutorial video to learn more https://youtu.be/Kxjzt4vzqU4
Q: Can I assign a switch to control the dual rate function?
A: Yes, you can assign a switch to control the dual rate function in the menu D/R.
Q: I bind RC4GS V3 to 2 receivers. Why do the two vehicles run at the same time even though I choose different models?
A: I bind RC4GS V3 to 2 receivers. The two vehicles run at the same time when I pull the throttle even though I choose different models.
It is because the MODEL selection is not for choosing the receiver. It's for different data sets. You need to set ID SEED in the basic menu.
Q: What’s the function of the USB port of RC4GS V3? Can it be used on a computer as a simulator as well?
A: The USB port of RC4GS V3 is for upgrading the firmware. It cannot be used on the computer as a simulator.
Do not use the USB port as a charging port, or it will damage the transmitter.
Q: What does LK-A mean when setting AUX-CH?
A: LK-A means the lock mode of the SwA button. For example, when you assign SwA to control the function, when you press the SwA, the function is triggered. When you release the button, the function is turned off. But when you assign LK-A to control the function, when you press the SwA for once, the function is triggered. When you press the SwA again, the function is turned off. LK-B is for the lock mode of the SwB button. LK-C for SwC. LK-D for SwD.
Q: I am driving in 3S and I have set the EXT alarm to 11.1V. But why the alarm goes off when I speed up?
A: When you speed up, the instantaneous voltage is high, so the voltage of the battery may fall. When it slows down, the voltage of the battery will go back slowly. You can set the alarm voltage lower than 11.1V.
Q: Does RC4GS V3/RC4GS V2/RC4GS support Crossfire?
A: Yes. RC4GS V3, RC4GS, and RC4GS V2 all support Crossfire. For the wiring and setting method, please refer to the following YouTube tutorial video.
Q: When letting go of the throttle, the car is still moving forward. What to do to stop the car immediately when I let go of the throttle?
A: Please check the instruction manual of your ESC and set the mode of your ESC.
Q: Can RC4GS V3 control cars/boats with metal or carbon casing?
A: If the R7FG receiver needs to be installed in a car/boat with a full metal casing, it is recommended to use an IPEX to SAM with a sucker antenna. The antenna needs to be drawn out, because if the receiver antenna is enclosed in a metal shell, the metal material will weaken the signal of the receiver, thereby affecting the control distance.
The antenna connector of the R7FG receiver is IPEX. Make sure the sucker antenna has the IPEX connector. Please refer to the picture below:
Q: Why do users encounter various problems when reading SBUS signals?
A:
1. When the data read by the user differs from the reference data we provide, please check whether the EPA setting of each channel in the transmitter is the same. If the EPA setting for each channel is different, the read signal range will be different.
2. If the SBUS data cannot be read, please check whether the devices used are working properly and whether there is any problem with the connecting cable.
3. Our products support standard SBUS signals compatible with various flight controllers. Please refer to the chart below for detailed information.
Q: Does RC4GS V3 support the Express LRS module?
A: NO.
Q: The telemetry voltage displayed on the transmitter's screen is less than measured. Is that normal?
A: Make sure to test the battery voltage by multi-meter. Because the voltage tested by other voltage test equipment is not accurate. 0.1V difference between the telemetry voltage and the real voltage is normal. If the difference is more than 0.1V, calibrate the voltage of the multi-meter and check the difference again.
Q: How to adjust the power of the steering and throttle?
A:
1. You can set THSPD/STSPD to slow down the speed of the throttle and steering. Here is the tutorial for THSPD (similar to STSPD):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6r8rWS79ups
2. You can also set the EPA or Dual Rate in RC4GS V3 to adjust the travel of steering and throttle. Here are the tutorials:

Q: I use the transmitter to run a winch and LED lights. They cannot be turned off. Why?
A: Please make sure there are control boards for the winch and LED lights. If they have no control board, please contact the producer or search the control board online.
Here is a tutorial on it:

Q: Does RC4GS V3 support digital servos?
A:
Yes, they can work well with RC6GS V3. However, the 3ms or 4ms digital servo response speed is not supported. If you need 3ms or 4ms digital servo response speed, you can use a RadioLink RC8X transmitter with an R8FG or R4FGM receiver of V2.1 or above.
All users of RadioLink RC3S, RC4G, RC4GS, RC4GS V2, RC4GS V3, RC6GS, RC6GS V2, and RC6GS V3 can buy 1 set of RC8X at a special price with the barcode in the battery tray of their transmitters(No need to send back the old transmitter).
