R8XM FAQ

Q: What transmitters are compatible with R8XM?

A:R8XM is compatible with RadioLink T8FB(BT)/T8S(BT)/T8FB(OTG)/T8S(OTG)/RC6GS V3/RC6GS V2/RC6GS/RC4GS V3/RC4GS V2/RC4GS, must work with flight controller.

Q:What signal outputs does R8XM support?

A:R8XM supports SBUS and PPM two signals output.

Receiver indicator is red means all 8 channels output PPM signal.

Receiver indicator is purple means all 8 channels output SBUS signal.

Q:How to bind R8XM to RadioLink transmitter?

A:

1. Put the transmitter and the receiver close to each other (about 50 centimeters) and power both on.

2. Switch on the transmitter and the LED on R8XM will start flashing slowly.

3. There is a black binding button (ID SET) on the side of receiver. Press the button for more than 1 second and release, the LED will flash quickly, meaning binding process is ongoing. 4. When the LED stops flashing and is always on, binding is complete. If not succeed, the LED will keep flashing slowly to notify, repeat the above steps.

Note: If bind to transmitters without screen like T8S or T8FB, the always on LED means binding completed.

Q:Why the LED of R8XM keeps flashing slowly?

A:The slow flashing LED means binding does not succeed or the signal gets lost after binding completes.

Q:How to switch the signal working modes?

A:Short press the binding button (ID SET) twice within 1 second. When the red indicator is on, signal output is PPM. When the purple LED is on, signal output is SBUS.

Q:What information can R8XM telemetry?

A: R8XM can real-time transmission of RSSI, receiver voltage, and model voltage.

Q:What is the maximum model voltage range that R8XM telemetry?

A: R8XM support 2S-6S LiPo battery voltage telemetry. The model voltage will display on the screen by connecting the battery to the telemetry port via the voltage feedback cable (come with R8XM), without extra backhaul module needed.

Pay attention: the socket of model voltage telemetry connect cable is default designed for 2S LiPo battery, if your battery is a 3S, 4S, 5S, or 6S, please redesigned the socket.

Q:What is the operating voltage range that R8XM supports?

A: The operating voltage range of R8XM is from 3V to 6V.

Q:Can the RSSI value of R8XM output to the FPV monitor/FPV goggles?

A: Yes, R8XM can output RSSI value to PV monitor/FPV goggles, real-time RSSI telemetry when racing/driving/sailing.

How to output RSSI value from receiver to FPV when the transmitter is T8FB/T8S and the flight controller is Mini Pix/TURBO PiX/PIXHAWK?

Q:How the transmitter alarm when the receiver or model battery voltage is lower than value you have set?

A: Alarm Beeps as below:

① Low transmitter voltage alarm: keep DDDD beep quickly and continuously

② Low receiver voltage alarm: five DDDDD beeps as a unit continuous beeping prompt

③ Low model voltage alarm: three DDD beeps as a unit continuous beeping prompt

④ Low RSSI alarm: four DDDD beeps as a unit continuous beeping prompt

Q:What is the control range of R8XM?

A:The control range is 4000 meters in the air. The maximum range is tested in unobstructed areas free of interference.

Q: What is the model voltage telemetry range of R8XM?

A: The model voltage telemetry range is the same as the control range, which is 4000 meters in the air. The maximum range is tested in unobstructed areas free of interference.

Q: Why the signal is lost when R8XM and the transmitter are too close?

A: There is signal amplification in R8XM, and the telemetry range is the same as the control range of 4000 meters, so it is best to keep the transmitter and R8XM receiver more than 50 centimeters apart when binding. If the transmitter and R8XM receiver are too close, it is easy to cause signal blockage, and the binding cannot be successful. After the binding is successful, if transmitter and R8XM receiver are too close (for example, within 50 centimeters), the signal may be lost. Bring the transmitter and R8XM receiver farther apart, the signal loss will disappear automatically.
