CB86PLUS FAQ
Q: Why is my CB86PLUS can’t be charged and is there a notice that the input power is low displayed on the screen?
A: Double-check the power source if the input power is too low. The standard input power of CB86PLUS is 10.5-15V. The notice will pop out if the input power is lower than 10.5V.
If the power source checked by the multimeter is within the range of 10.5-15V, we need to calibrate the voltage for the CB86PLUS. Click the below link to find the tutorial video: https://youtu.be/CMuTD7CyohU
Q: What if the screen display becomes faint or flashing?
A: Firmware needs to be upgraded and then calibrate the voltage.

Q: Why does my CB86PLUS stop automatically while it's working?
A: 1) Check if the charging time is set at the right top of the screen. The charging time is unset when it displays as TIME 00:00. If it is 00:10, it means the charging time is set as 10 minutes.
2) If the temperature is too high, the charger will stop to protect.
Q: Why my CB86PLUS can’t function when there's a notice of a Repair charge displayed on the screen?
A: If your battery is over-discharged and the voltage of whichever cell is less than or equal to 3.0V, CB86PLUS will automatically activate the battery repair function. That is repair charging with the repair current as 20% of the current battery voltage. For example, if the current battery voltage is 2.1V and the repair current will be 0.4A. All other cells with more than 3.0V will stay in Repair Charge mode until the first one is charged to 3.0V. After that, CB86PLUS will automatically change to the normal current as 6A.
Q: Why key buttons of my CB86PLUS still work but the screen gets blank/black?
A: It's because of the bad wire connection to the screen. Please remove the cover of CB86PLUS and reconnect the wire.
Q: Why is there a deviation of all cell voltage showing on the screen after batteries are connected to my CB86PLUS?
A: Please calibrate the voltage first, following the voltage calibration tutorial video: https://youtu.be/CMuTD7CyohU
Q: Why is no data for each cell showing on the screen after the batteries are connected to my CB86PLUS? E.g. I connect a 3S LiPo battery but there are voltage data of only 2 cells.
A: Try to connect another battery to the same port to check if the display is normal or not. If it is, then the cell that doesn't display is broken. Or you can check the battery with a multimeter to see if there's voltage for all cells. If all works, then it must be the PCBA board broken and needs to be repaired.
Q: What if the buttons of my CB86PLUS don't function well or function too well?
Q: Why does my CB86PLUS not automatically switch to the next charging port when the current one has completed charging?
A: 1) Try with a new battery to the first port to see if it switches automatically. If it doesn't, test if the second port functions. If the second port works, it must be the first one that malfunctions and must be repaired.
2) It's also probably because of the internal resistance of the aged battery which takes time to recharge. So, it won't automatically switch to the next charging port at once. You can test by changing a new battery to charge with the first port and see if it can automatically switch to the second port when it's fully charged.
Q: Can the discharging current and voltage be personalized?
A: The discharging current of CB86PLUS is fixed as 1.2A and the discharging voltage can be personalized from 0.5-4.35V.
Q: After updating the newest firmware, an error code shows 3 PWR. What does error code PWR mean?
A: Please update the latest firmware of CB86-PLUS first.

PWR means there is something wrong with the power supply. For example, the power supply fluctuates abnormally. Here are our suggestions.
1. The current of your power supply should be less than 15A. The voltage should be within the range of 10.5V-15V. So please make sure the power supply meets the requirement.
Power supply for CB86-PLUS is not provided by default. The charger can only work when it is connected to a DC power supply or battery power supply. You can connnect it to a DC power supply with an output voltage of 10.5-15V and an output current of not less than 15A. The red cable of the charger is the positive pole and the black cable is the negative pole.
2. You can also connect the ground wire to V- with a wire, just as below.
3. If the error code still exists, please change to a new power supply to have a try.
4. If the error code PWR still exists after you follow the above suggestions, you can add anti-interference capacitors on CB86-PLUS to solve it.

Q: After the CB86PLUS charger is inserted into the battery, what is the problem that the screen shows that the voltage of all the cells has deviated?
A: Do the voltage calibration first: https://youtu.be/CMuTD7CyohU?list=TLPQMDMwMTIwMjN6dmkpPWl8XQ
The voltage of CB86-PLUS charger needs to be re-calibrated after upgrading the firmware from Version 2.4 to Version 2.5 and above. If you don't have a multi-meter, you can measure the power supply voltage and battery voltage with CB86-PLUS charger under the condition that the current voltage display of CB86-PLUS is correct. The steps are as follows:
1. Before upgrading the firmware, plug the battery into the rightmost interface of port 1. Wait for 30 seconds and then check the voltage of each cell in port 1. Record the voltage value on the second row of the first box, as shown in the picture below. The battery voltage can be recorded as 4.200V in the picture (make sure that the cell voltage is between 3.8-4.4V). The power supply voltage can be recorded as 12.003V, shown in the upper left corner of the charger screen.
2. Install the new firmware immediately, and then re-calibrate the voltage of CB86-PLUS charger according to the following tutorial. The power supply voltage during calibration is set to 12.003V and the battery voltage to 4.200V, which are the voltage value just recorded.
Note: After the calibration, you need to check whether power supply voltage and battery voltage are consistent with the actual calibration value. If there is a big difference in the voltage value, you need to re-calibrate the charger with a multi-meter.
Q: After upgrading the newest firmware, an error code shows **V (such as 3V, 145V, 23456V). What does error code **V mean?
A: Please update the latest firmware first.

Q: After upgrading the latest firmware, an error code shows **A (such as 6A, 56A). What does error code **A mean?
A: The letter A means that the current is abnormal.
First, please check whether the battery connection is firm, whether the battery and charger is in good contact.
Or whether the balance head wire is too thin. If the balance head wire diameter is too thin, charging with a large current may damage the balance wire.
If the problem still exists after replacing other batteries, please try to change the power supply. If the error message continues to appear after changing the power supply, please email after_service@radiolink.com.cn to get help.
Q: After upgrading the latest firmware, an error message is displayed as shown below
Error Code: Number + R (such as 2 R), what does it mean?
A: R means the current is abnormal, 2 means the second battery cell, check whether the battery and the charger are in bad connection, and re-plug the battery. When this interface appears, long press the STOP button to exit.
If the error message continues to appear after long press the STOP button, please email after_service@radiolink.com.cn to get help.
Q: Why can’t the charging current reach the set value when the lipo battery is about to be charged to 4.2V? For example, the charging current is set to 4-6A, but the current charging current is only about 1.2A.
A: It is normal. When the lipo battery is almost full, in order to protect the battery, the charger will automatically trickle charge. Large current may cause battery overheating, increased electrode polarization, and increased internal pressure at the end of charging, affecting the life and performance of the battery, and may even cause safety hazards. Reducing the current can reduce these adverse effects, allowing the battery to charge more safely and stably.
Q: When using lipo batteries, how to check the battery voltage?
A: You can get the battery voltage based on the current lipo battery voltage display value: 4.2V≈100%, 3.95V≈75%, 3.85≈50%, 3.73V≈25%, 3.5V≈5%, 2.75V≈0%
After excessive battery cycles, the above voltage value will gradually decrease with use time.
Note: When the voltage of the lithium battery is lower than 3.6V, it is recommended not to continue using it, otherwise it will cause irreversible and permanent damage to the battery or even scrap.
Q: How to store the battery when it is not used for a long time?
A: The lipo battery voltage needs to be kept around 3.8V. You can charge or discharge the battery voltage to 3.8V. It is recommended to use the STORAGE mode in CB86-PLUS. Press SET button to enter the setting interface and set the MODE option to STORAGE.
In STORAGE mode, CB86-PLUS will automatically charge/discharge the battery voltage to 3.8V. That is, if the voltage of any battery cell is higher than 3.8V, the charger will automatically discharge it to 3.8V; if the current voltage of any battery cell is lower than 3.8V, the charger will automatically charge it to 3.8V. The charging current can be set by yourself, and the discharge current defaults to 1.2A.
